Wrong. I think the wall will be paid for through the renegotiation or cancellation of NAFTA. Mexico will pay for it one way or another and nobody really cares how. As far as tariffs are concerned, the truth of the matter is we need to use tariffs as a weapon and not forget that tariffs built this country. A major cause of the Civil War was that Lincoln did not want to lose the Tariffs the southern states brought in from foreign trade.
I read that Trump also said “make Mexico great” which is a BRILLIANT idea as it would be mutually beneficial to both sides, however, it will be a monumental task.
Trump is basing his projections of Mexico “paying” for the wall by expecting enough import tariffs which American distributors and consumers will actually pay.
