Disgraceful.
Something tells me there is more to this story.
I guess chivalry is dead...
More S.O.O.’s no doubt.
Murder over failure to open the door for a woman? Oh man, my supervisor at B.Z. (now deceased, but don’t want to anger her relatives by publishing her name) in Lubbock, TX chewed me out when I was young for OPENING the door for her. She said very clearly she didn’t need any man’s help. Glad she didn’t shoot me.
I recall Hunter S. Thompson’s description of North Las Vegas - its the type of place you go if you want to score some heroin after midnight and you don’t know anyone in town.
Not that it’s necessary relevant to the shooting but the math shows the Dad that was killed was 16 when his daughter was conceived....
At 14 he was an important part of her life.....at least he was doing something right....
dead guy’s name is Mohammad...a moslem...
Did he threaten the woman ???
His name’s “Mohammad” and she’s a female. She’s lucky he didn’t stone her instead of just not holding the door.
Where was Chumley?...
I live in Maine and I always hold the door open for women.
Men sometimes, too...if a guy is directly behind me I prop the door open so it doesn’t close on him.
Everyone says “Oh, thank-you!” One older woman asked me if I was married!
P.S.: North Las Vegas is a rough area.
Well, the victim was named Mohammad, so why should he be expected to hold the door for a piece of property. He was just conducting a mini-jihad, it appears.
Nowadays, you’re just as likely to be shot FOR holding the door open for a woman. Shot if you do, shot if you don’t.
well one down only another ten million to go < /sarcasm>
Wait - I thought these liberated women didn’t *want* men holding doors open for them, because patriarchy or something?
Sounds like someone be disrespected.
Sounds like Mo dissed the lady...can’t have that.
I’ve come to regard fast food places as ‘no go’ zones.
The gals in the Bay Area used to look at me like they wanted to shoot me — when I DID hold the door for them.
How am I supposed to know how he/she self-identifies to determine whether or not I’m supposed to hold the door open for him/her?
