The Mayor of Luckenwalde, eastern Germany, has sacked a Palestinian intern for refusing to remove her headscarf at work. Elisabeth Herzog-von der Heide said the garment violated the neutrality of the town hall. Local German newspaper Märkische Allgemeine reported on Wednesday that the 48-year-old Palestinian woman was fired from her six-week internship with the Perspectives for refugees project after just one day. [ ]
Christian Democratic Union (CDU) politician Sven Petke criticized Herzog-von der Heide's decision. There are no legal grounds for this decision, Petke said, adding that Germanys Federal Constitutional Court had ruled that personal beliefs and their connection to particular items of clothing shouldnt be reprehensible. Thats different from a crucifix on the wall, he said.
The decision to fire the Palestinian intern was applauded, however, by right-wing populist party Alternative for Germany (AfD). If the [Christian] cross is not permitted at the premises of the town hall, then there must be no special treatment for Muslims, said AFD MP Thomas Jung. The mayor, therefore, deserves respect, and not scolding for her uncomfortable decision.

Dummkopfen. Don't they know that the word "neutral" only applies to Christians?
It should be noted....the mayor is SPD.
And there’s strong rules already on the books about NO religion at the work-place (to include crosses). So they did go exactly by the rules in place and this gal decided to quietly challenge them. She guessed wrong.
Ach du lieber...
What is the difference between a Cross on the wall and a scarf on a wooden head???
What I find so amazing about this controversy all over the world is that no one can point out the basis of why muslim women have to be partially or fully covered up.
“”Hijab is the term used by many Muslim women to describe their head cover. This may or may not include covering their face. The Arabic word ‘hijab’ can be translated into veil or yashmak. Other meanings for the word ‘hijab’ include, screen, cover(ing), mantle, curtain, drapes, partition, division, divider.
Can we find the word ‘hijab’ in the Quran?
The word ‘hijab’ appears seven times in the Quran. Five of them as ‘hijab’ and two times as ‘hijaban’, these are verses: 7:46, 33:53, 38:32, 41:5, 42:51, 17:45 & 19:17.
None of these ‘hijab’ words are used in the Quran in reference to what the traditional Muslims call today ‘hijab’, that being the head cover for Muslim woman!
God knows that generations after Muhammed’s death the Muslims will use the word ‘hijab’ to invent a dress code that God Himself never authorised. God used the word ‘hijab’ ahead of them just as He used the word ‘hadith’ ahead of them (45:6).
The word ‘hijab’ in the Quran has nothing to do with the Muslim women’s dress code.””

Nien! Sehr gut!
They ban religious symbols as though that will have any impact on the aims of the jihadists planted among the more than 1 million muslim “refugees”. Symbolism over substance.
I have no problem with the hijab. My aunt was a Catholic nun in the days when they still wore habits, and I knew some Pentecostal families who also encouraged head coverings as modesty for women. The problem isn’t the hijab, it’s the ideology behind it. Muslims don’t view it as merely modesty, but a way to fly the islamic flag among the infidels.
Excellent
The real fight is not about the clothing people wear in Germany.
Its about what the people in that clothing will do to control society with their laws and kill people with their weapons and so on.....
No one freaks out about Amish ladies wearing head coverings, or Catholic nuns.
Islamic headscarves are basically part of an enemy military uniform.
Banning the uniforms won’t stop the violent acts, the SPD (Socialist) politician in Germany needs to go beyond firing people from their jobs to deporting people from the country and preventing anyone else wearing the ‘uniform’ from entering the country.
I do not see any difference from ‘a crucifix on the wall’.
The scarf is larger—and literally in the face of anyone she comes near, much less talks to or works with.
Take your scarf & your Sharia Law and go back to where you came from. IF you don’t like the living conditions THERE-—CHANGE the living conditions where you came from-—don’t try & change the condition s where you have run to. We like what we have-—We don’t LIKE or NEED what you left behind.
A 48-year old intern?! And a German willing to say No?!
How long before he’s in the World Court on charges of crimes against humanity?
Problem I have with your explanation is the use of the name “God”. The fiend known as “allah” is NOT God.
Well said!

You saw the link, didn’t you? It wasn’t MY explanation. I cringed when I read it also but they believe otherwise and the link was from their perspective....
