For a weapon to be effective, it must not only be capable of hitting and destroying the target, but it must also be in the right place at the right time and employed with the right rules of engagement. Also, there will need to be a lot of them as many will be lost in a first strike by the enemy. (Chinese military doctrine might as well be known as the Pearl Harbor ploy.)
The US military is pound for pound one of the most effective military’s around. But it uses the wrong weapons ineffectively and and with bad rules of engagement. This is caused by bad leadership at the top. Winning is more determined by the leadership in the top than hardware or training.
