The reason why he didn’t land in New Orleans or Baton Rouge was that he didn’t want to take security off the situation and claim it for himself.
Yep, and the media of course blasted him for it, without mentioning the actual reason. Plus, he could do more to get relief efforts started from the White House than on the ground there.
That was why I mentioned it in my previous post, when he flies in, all aircraft are cleared from the area. That means rescues by helicopter have to stop too.
I’ll admit Obama had the same scenario to deal with, but a week playing golf makes his priorities highly suspect, he could have been there before Trump and not interfered with rescues. There are also other options. New Orleans is 45 minutes from Gonzales by car, an hour from Baton rouge, fly into New Orleans and drive up. Helicopters can keep on going uninterrupted.
