Ryan Lochte may finally be starting to feel the effects of his lie about being robbed at gunpoint in Rio.
On Monday, Speedo, Ralph Lauren, Airweave, and Syneron Candela all terminated their contracts with the swimmer, costing him approximately $1 million in annual sponsorship money that would have likely gone toward paying for his training for Tokyo 2020.

Ryan wins the “Me & My Big Mouth!” awards for this Olympics.
Maybe he can tour the high schools and warn them, “Don’t be that guy, don’t do what I did.”
Lochte lies, and he loses millions in endorsements and is shamed wherever he goes.
Hillary lies, and she gains millions in political payoffs and gets nominated for president.
Someone pointed out on ESPN radio that this guy is really only losing these deals because his swimming career is likely over -- and his value to an endorsement partner would have been about $0 once the Olympics ended anyway.
I still think the Rio cops stuck em up.
His friends ratted on him to get out of the sordid country, that’s it.

I thought USA Today ran a story the other day, complete with eyewitnesses, who said that Lochte’s initial story was true.
And reporters checked out the bathroom, and the fixtures....mirror, soap dispenser, etc. were not damaged and had not been replaced.
Weird.

Ryan apparently never learned a HUGE lesson all young men must learn. When drinking, and having trouble remembering what happened while drinking, never volunteer anything. And, most of all, never volunteer anything to YOUR MOTHER!
Swimmer Michael Phelps currently has $12 million in endorsement deals, with likely more to come, as he is the most decorated Olympic athlete of all time. At this time, Phelps has left behind his endorsement deal with Speedo, and has a deal with Aqua Sphere (for an undisclosed amount). Additionally, his sponsor list now includes Under Armour, Omega, Master Spas, Sol Republic headphones, and 800razors.com, according to the Baltimore Sun.
If lying were the only character fault to deal with.
Unfortunately, lying is merely the most noticeable symptom of a panoply of character and/or moral weaknesses weaknesses.
True, whether discussing athletes or politicians!
