Point 1: There are a lot of libs in military families, and those libs might decide to vote Green in protest of Hillary. Or their energy drops when the know what kind of creep she is.
Point 2: Truth and falsehood matter to a lot of people.
Last but NOT least: Military families get energized over outrages like this.
Look, I understand the Benghazi issue, soup to nuts.
I just think that anyone who is motivated to vote by it is already on board, and that VRWC attacks on Hillary over it are a motivator for her voters to show up.
It’s a prudential judgement, not a value one, and of course YMMV.

This weakens energy for Hillary and builds massive energy for Trump.
OK. I see how the Iranian payoff might be handled with these hostages and perhaps the hostages are even willing to be hostages. But I thought Benghazi was about arming the groups that were to become ISIS and their toppling of Assad in order to allow the Sunnis and the to take over Syria. Obama has always sided with the Sunnis and the House of Saud except in his paying off the Iranians. The Iranians must be extorting Obama in some way which is no surprise to me since Obama’s past is nothing but a question mark.

You are entirely correct. The plan was going well until Stevens and Smith went into the “safe room” and the idiots on the ground came up with the idea to smoke them out. When the expected video showing Stevens a captive, instead showed him either dead or very close to it, the panic set in at 1600 because they had not considered this in their plan.
That is why they went into hunker mode to cover themselves instead of being concerned for the rest of the contingent over there. They also had no concept of the idea that those trained in the arts of combat would do a totally unnatural thing for them and run to the sound of gunfire rather than running away from it. Seeing this in their live feed, they then concocted the video meme that I’m sure was mediabot tested before it was trotted out.
