A high school in Little Rock, Arkansas, is teaching more than just history and math.

At the start of this school year, Catholic High School for Boys posted a sign in its doorway reminding parents of one of the school’s most important policies.

“If you are dropping off your son’s forgotten lunch, books, homework, equipment, etc., please TURN AROUND and exit the building,” the sign reads. “Your son will learn to problem-solve in your absence.”

The school also posted a photo of the sign to Facebook, and captioned it, “Welcome to Catholic High. We teach reading, writing, arithmetic, and problem-solving."

The greatest DISASTER for this country was the break-up of the nuclear family. PART of the blame was EASY DIVORCE. But, mostly it was a failure of their faith about Jesus' words against divorce: Matthew 19:3-12, Mark 10:2-12.

Americans seem to have take the Henry VIII view on divorce-remarriage. His six wives: divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, died.

Americans have made ONE profession STINKING rich: divorce lawyers.

When she babysat the kids got away with NOTHING? OF COURSE. That was EASY since she was a mere visitor.

As for her own children...is there no "hammer" in the house? My dear, wonderful daddy was the HAMMER. A home without a hammer WILL fall apart. Who's going to drive in the nails to keep the walls from tumbling down?

Granted, there are weak fathers, but USUALLY children need mommy for the first 12 years of life. THEN they need DAD for their teenage years.

DAD teaches his children how to deal with adult male authority. That's especially true for black fathers. Where there is an absence of fathers, there is almost always trouble.
Just ask the men and women behind bars: mostly "daddy-less" homes.

38 years ago this month, my wife returned to work full time after a 12 year absence as a full time Mother.

She spent over two weeks showing our children ages 12-10 how to wash, dry and hang up their clothes. How to help prep for dinner like setting the table, preparing a simple salad and washing veggies and getting the meat out of the refrig for dinner which she or I would prepare when we got home.

The kids school started after Labor day, and two events became learning lessons for them.

#1. They learned quickly that if they didn’t do their prep jobs for dinner, they got to eat cereal or pbj. We would do a quick fix for our dinner or bring it home for us. After a couple of evenings of that, they did their dinner prep jobs.

#2. When school started, my wife didn’t nag them about doing their laundry. The first Monday after the first week of school, they realized they had no clean clothes. When they whined about having to wear dirty clothes to school. My wife informed them to do their laundry after school that day or they would have dirty clothes to wear the next day. Besides the laundry chores, if they didn’t prep the dinner, they knew what they got for dinner.

They never had dirty clothes to wear again to school, as they learned about life.

They learned that often the best way to problem solve was to prevent the problem from happening.
