A muddleheaded mishmash on national security (Boston Globe psychotic break)
Boston Globe ^ | 8/19/16 | Indira A.R. Lakshmanan

Posted on 08/19/2016 11:12:47 AM PDT by pabianice

... And therein lies Trump’s problem. He has no national security doctrine, just a jumble of gut instincts and mood swings with a tough guy veneer.

Aside from declaring a war of words on “radical Islamic terrorism,” advocating torture (which didn’t work out so well for Bush in his similar-sounding “war on terror”), proposing an ideological test for Muslims, and asserting that he’ll shut down terrorists’ access to the Internet “immediately” (without explaining how), there’s nothing different in his national security prescriptions from 15 years of counterterrorism policies of the Bush and Obama administrations...

I’d rather be led by the incompetent than by the evil.

Bush taught me that lesson.

Trump: not incompetent, but Hillary: evil.

National security starts with border security.

Can’t have the first without the second.

We have had 30 years of bipartisan policy of non-enforcement of immigration laws and borders.

Lord knows how many jihadists are already here.

At least he’s not falling off platforms, going stone cold catatonic in the middle of a presentation, or playing out in public what he looks like when he’s having “an episode”. He doesn’t have them, and she does.

Hillary and Obama armed and funded al Qaeda (the good terrorists) in Syria (and Libya), much of which became ISIS.

Okay now, back to trashing the guy who doesn’t have a clue according to the Boston Phobe.

I am no longer convinced that the failure by Bush to secure the border after 9/11 was incompetence.

After WWII fighting a total war became unfashionable for the NATO alliance. African civil wars, Stalin and Mao almost fought total against their own citizens, along with several African regimes, and the Ri’s are pursuing that path.

Will it ultimately take total war or is appeasement the new normal?

“...And therein lies Trump’s problem. He has no national security doctrine,...”

Oh...and Oblahblah had/has a national security doctrine?

What is Oblahblah’s NSD — bend over, grab our ankles and let everyone have a go, sand in the Vaseline and all...we have been so deliberately weakened by this administration it is laughable to say that Trump has no NSD when clearly Oblahblah didn’t have a clue let alone a doctrine...His doctrine was squat and pee at any sign of strength directed at the US...

LOL - the policies may be the same and the laws may be the same. The difference is that Trump will enforce and execute them. The others just talk and don’t act. . .now where have I heard that before?

And this alleged having no coherent plan on Trump’s part is very much much much worse than under the guidance of 0bama’s surrogate Mommy Valerie arming our sworn enemies and greatest source of worldwide terrorism by paying them billions of dollars with which they can and do buy arms from the Russians including the most advanced anti-aircraft systems available on the market, removing sanctions from Iran, and destabilizing half a dozen nations in the Mideast thereby providing the germinating ground for ISIS. And lying about all of it while offering a transparent facade to the Saudis that we remain their allies while actually and obviously undermining them.

So clearly it is far far better to have a blitheringly failed policy and lie about it and bungle every aspect of it in a sycophantic way that you think is doing a good job when it is an abject failure, even while you are lying about it and breaking laws executing it. While having your SOS enrich herself to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars selling out any vital security secret she can get her filthy hands on.

Oh yeah. Imagine just how much worse Trump would be. I’m trembling in my boots.

I suggest that The Boston Globe find the submitted, in print ‘national security’ paper Mr. Trump submitted, 2 weeks ago.

I, also, suggest, that in contrast, they attempt to find anything written on paper anywhere from Hillary Clinton concerning ‘national security’, that hasn’t been found in lost emaisl, redacted submitted papers, or equivalent nonsensical soundbytes.

“with a tough guy veneer”

Still better than Obama’s “please kick sand in my face” veneer.
