Growing up, Jimmie Williams’ family and friends supported the Democrat Party. So naturally, he decided he too was a Democrat. But the older he got, the more he questioned the political path that seemed predetermined for him.
He suppressed his doubts, telling The College Fix in an email interview dissenters are branded traitors to the black community. In private, however, his concerns grew — even as he took on leadership roles within the University of Memphis College Democrats and the College Democrats of Tennessee.
Then, in 2014, Williams attended a meeting of the College Republicans at the University of Memphis as a sort of peace gesture. Hearing the Republican principles espoused at the meeting, and the friendliness of his conservative peers who welcomed him with “open arms,” ultimately began his journey to leaving the Democratic Party and registering as a Republican, he said.

Another one escaped the plantation.
A 60-ish black man told me the other day that he's voting for hellery because the democrats are for the people.
I wanted to know in what way democrats help the people, but he couldn't tell me other than to repeat, "it's just that the democrats are for the people, you know!"
This is the kind of news I have been looking for .. the person at a College who realizes that it’s time to grow up and think for yourself.
The Republicans have allowed the Democrats to get away with this “ideology” when the Civil rights act got approved in Congress in 60’s. The media always pushes white, rich old men as image of Republicans.
Very few people even know about the Black Republican Party- they have a website. Lot of interesting facts posted there. I notice you rarely hear of them via media, news, websites, even Drudge.
Good for Jimmie. He’ll have to steer clear of the filthy SJWs who are like a thoughtgroup cult.
A modern-day Underground Railroad, it would seem.
I guess we need the modern equivalent of the Underground Railroad to help blacks escape the Democrat Plantation.

The problem for Clinton is that she needs every last Black voter to vote for her and she will NOT be getting that number. Trump will do 18% to 23% and the turnout will be reduced making Trump’s gains even more powerful.
Geez. I’m thinking he’ll do WAY better than that.
I would think that BlackLivesMatter might appreciate it if Graceland could arrange for their tour to be conducted by such an admirable young black man.

I did ask that. They know the corruption and don’t care because she’s “for the people.” This person believes there’ll have to be more trouble for her than “just the emails.”
They obviously hear what they want to hear and believe accordingly.
“The 65 year old lady that lives next-door to me is a life long democrat. She is voting for Trump”
Good for her! Same for my in-laws. I hope that’s not simply anecdotal evidence.
