Suffolk: Hillary only up by two in Nevada

Donald Trump’s team can use a bit of good news from a poll, and Suffolk’s survey of Nevada might just brighten their day — a bit, anyway. The poll, conducted Monday through Wednesday this week among 500 likely voters, shows Hillary Clinton in the lead, but only by two points, 44/42. Given the trends of the past three weeks, and Nevada’s electoral history, that’s a relatively positive outcome:

A new Suffolk University poll of Nevada voters shows a statistical dead heat in the presidential race, with Democrat Hillary Clinton leading Republican Donald Trump 44 percent to 42 percent.

Clinton’s strong suit appears to be Las Vegas.

“Clark County, which includes Las Vegas, accounts for nearly 70 percent of the statewide vote, and Hillary Clinton’s lead there is the reason she is winning the state,” said David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center in Boston. “In this instance, what happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas—it affects the whole state.”

Clinton’s 13-point Clark County lead countered a 3-point deficit in Washoe county and a 46-point deficit in the smaller counties of central Nevada.

---------------------------------------------------

With that in mind, one could suspect this of being an outlier. Nope; the RCP aggregation has showed Nevada to be a virtual tie for weeks. In fact, the polling has remained remarkably stable despite all of the sturm und drang around the Trump campaign since the conventions. The polling downturn for Trump nationally appears to have had no impact in Nevada.

Sen. Dean Heller, Gov. Brian Sandoval and Sen. Candidate Rep Joe Heck have still not endorsed Trump.

I did a google search last week and as of then no endorsement popped up for each man.

If the state which now has All Republican office holders in the Gov. Mansion , both state houses and Congress goes Dem these People are to blame, and should be scapegoated for any loss.

Fact is this state has Cheap Labor Express Rinos that raised Taxes by a record amount. And the GOP base is ready to toss them out if they don’t repeal the taxes.

Trump won 46 percent of the vote and more people voted for Trump than the Total GOP vote in the Romney election because of massive GOP turnout.

Joe Heck is #HeckNo, an open borders Rino who backs Ryan.

Nevada has been polling close consistently, odd considering Colorado has not been.

Among swing states IA has also been consistently close.

(SEIU) Service employees international Union. This state would be a win for Trump, but this group has kept Harry Reid there for years. Sad to say, but because of this group, I see this state going for Hillary.

Have Dana White or Fertitta brothers ever been successfully screwd by the mormons or the union workers?

As always with Nevada, the headline would be more accurate if it read, “Hillary Up In Las Vegas.” Most of the saner remainder of the state can’t stand her.

Good, just run targeted ads in one county. It helps to have the enemy gathered in one place.

I don’t think it is appropriate for a presidential candidate to get involved with primaries of their own party.

She’s NOT going to win Nevada period. The bellwether county there has Trump + 12 and has had it +12 for months.

And has got nothing in return from the little sh*t except to be fragged at every turn.

If I were Trump I would go quiet on endorsements and not seek any from the GOPE scum out there. Every time one of these little elitist pukes frags me I would cancel a RNC fundraising event and tell Rinse’NRepeat sorry I am busy cleaning up the mess from being fragged by one of your frat Party boys, can’t help you. Hopefully I will be available for the next scheduled event.

Ryan endorsed Trump before Trump endorsed Ryan. You should stop listening to stupid media stories playing up GOP divisions, Ryan and McConnell both support the nominee.

Just a guess. Nevada will go Trump for President, all the down races will go Democrat.

It’s close, that doesn’t mean leaning Trump.

Either something is wrong with CO (too much weed?) and it’s really moving in the wrong direction or Trump has some kind of specific appeal to NV.

well, if the national race ends up as 50/50, then Trump takes NV and loses CO.

that is what I mean by leaning Trump.

in 2008, the tipping point states were CO IA NH
in 2012, the tipping point states were CO IA NH PA
in 2004, the tipping point state was OH (it could have ended up as NV)
in 2000, the tipping point state was FL (it could have been OREGON if events were modified just a bit)
