voters want their representatives to represent their interests Where voters cause trouble for each other is trying to impose one size fits all solutions. Having a big barbecue and live band on your patio in Manhattan will summon stormtroopers with guns in minutes, while out in the sticks you are the first line police and need your own gun.

Also known as NOVA (N. VA), the immigrant population there is astounding. Go to the Tyson’s Corner Mall on a weekend and you’ll see a veritable United Nations. Very large percentage of Muslims.
Hispanics, Asians, Muslims - all big time democratic voters who for the most part would be happy to see the 2nd Amendment thrown into the dustbin of history.

Good point. One thing that rednecks (for lack of a better word) have going for them is their capability to laugh at themselves. Self effacing humor is part of their culture. OTOH, liberals have very thin skins. I know some libs who live in Portland and they do NOT like Portlandia. They view humor as a weapon, and I don't think they realize you can have a laugh without tearing down someone else.
