I was in Jackson, MS two weeks after Katrina. There were lots of FEMA workers at my hotel. They were all in the dumps over how they had been treated by the press and the Democrats. They said they are not first responders, firemen or police. Their job is to provide relief and support after the initial crisis passes. They did that job well. “Brownie” did a good job.
The media and Democrats portrayed them as slow, bumbling first responders. That was a major injustice, perpetrated by the idiot governor of Louisiana (Kathleen Blanco) and by New Orleans mayor (and felon) Ray Nagin.
