I believe it was his mother. Stanley Anne Dunham (and her parents) were clearly non-traditionalists, who veered to socialism and cultural-Marxist social views, and all that means. She had a clearly sham marriage to the Kenyan Obama Sr. when she was 18, followed by a dislocated home life, wacky ideas about anthropology, women's liberation, and post-modern sexual mores. This was followed by Obama's unclear tutelage in Marxist politics and Islam in his childhood, along with a life of ease and lots of marijuana in Hawaii, while his mother was elsewhere. He's the epitome "red-daiper baby."
