Because someone decided to give away a bunch of condoms doesn’t mean our athletes are slurs and whites. I think your post was insulting to our young people and their families who have sacrificed so much to get where they are. If I had a son or daughter participating, I would be very insulted by your remark.

**All prizes are taxable, why should Olympic medals be any different?**

Gambling losses are deductible.
Why not the years of costs associated with getting the athlete to the point where they are now winning something?

My understanding is that a lot of athletes actually do incorporate themselves for just that purpose.

Do they pay taxes on the scholarships they receive from colleges?

Not all athletes are on scholarships.

My daughter swims for a D-1 college. There are a total of 8 scholarships for the 30 some odd women on the team.

Those scholarships are sliced up so thin that maybe your books are paid for. And that is it.

Works fine for the elite level swimmers. But how many parents incorporate their 8 year old who is just starting to swim?

I bet Jenner is probably spending a shit ton on hormones and previously won gold medals right now, I guess that’s why Jenner got on Keeping up with the Cardashions.
