I certainly agree that Trump should avoid sounding like a whiner with respect to the media; but that does not mean he can ignore them. They have gone after him with an intensity unlike anything I have ever seen before.

The specific issues about Hillary's character & lack of qualifications & about the differences between Trump policy & Hillary's policy, need to be pressed--to be sure. And that does not mean trying to cover the entire water-front in any one speech. But Hillary needs to be a daily subject.

At the same time, a separate approach to the press is essential. Again, it should never sound whiny. I would recommend Trump handle it in a series of fireside type speeches--half hours on various channels & internet vehicles. Start each with two or three different smears drawn from the most obvious attacks, each briefly stated, followed by carefully explained factual analysis--delivered without bombast, in a fatherly tone;--one making the case by offering a quiet battery of facts which demonstrate the lies being employed--but made all the more dramatic in contrast to the way he attacks Hillary & the Dems, by being carefully understated.

Let me be explicit. Properly handled the understatement, where the facts leave the viewer to feel the rage Donald Trump will be containing as he quietly demonstrates the points, is the key to the success of the tactic.

If anyone is not clear what I am suggesting, I will be happy to enlarge on the mental & rhetorical processes involved. Basically what he would be doing, is demonstrating sweet reasonableness by his tone & understatements, while unmasking the full level of deceit being used against him. If Hollywood were not so biased against us, there are plenty out there who regularly use this approach conceptually in all sorts of situations, that dictate the desired emotional reaction.

“sweet reasonableness”

I think we’re way past that point in time.

Oh, totally agreed!!.... and he can never let up on the press because that is like blood in the water, but his response needs to be measured and informed and also balanced with the differences in himself and hilLIARy.

When he goes after the press he needs written or videoed evidence of their lies and distortions, not just name-calling and tantrums. HE must be the grown up. MUST be.

Ok, I am thinking one of the things Trump may do is pull an Obama-—a half hour prime time special with victims of illegals, workers put out of a job by regulation, then a careful attack on Cankles.

Zero did this with his Obamacare pitch. A network could not refuse.
