People who spend every cent they can get their hands on the minute they can get their hands on it will never have wealth not matter how much free stuff you give them.
And spend it on $500 shoes, $200 jeans, $300 sunglasses and stereos. They want to live like they think the rich live but don’t want to work.
Sadly, a lot of that fact is reflected in statistics about blacks’ home ownership and net worth. Very few, for example, have much in the way of 401(k) accounts. One acquires a substantial 401(k) balance primarily by regularly deferring gratification and contributing to the account. The main thing that keeps the average person from doing that is disinclination to sign up, which primarily results from the desire for immediate gratification. A powerful contributor to that is the current urban black culture that brutally penalizes “acting and thinking white.”
