My thoughts : Obama is in the situation where he cannot say YES or NO to the request. Saying YES shows major weakness to be used in the election campaign against the democrats; Saying NO means provoking the Turks into the next step which may be dropping out of NATO, taking over the US base, or a variation of a "student" action a la the Iranians in 1980.. again, this is not helpful at all in the campaign.
So Obama has to play for time, send "positive signals", pretend to work out formalities, and hope that the matter will get delayed till after the elections... not at all obvious that Erdogan will like being stalled.
One question to FR: the entire matter of extradition of a political figure: was there *ANY* precedent in the US history?

The nukes should have been removed 10 years ago. Heck, the entire U.S. presence.
Another Bush failure.

And Bless the Turks if they do to Hillary what the Mullahs did to Carter. :P And there will me more than one person to suggest that Trump was in cahoots with the Turks if something like that happens.

Gulen? Very bad precedent to turn over to Erdogan, the Islamist.
But most important matter is the Southern Base in Turkey and the 50-90+ H bombs stored there.

He already does. Gulen is no friend of ours. Maybe Ergogan will take Gulen, his family, and all the members of Gulen’s mosque as well?

While I have no problem with turning over Gulen or Hussein or both (and they can have Hillary too)....
I really do not think this is possible.. looking through the Wiki extradition list shows nothing like this ever done.

If you’re going back that far in time, let’s make it 55 years, and we might not have had a Cuban Missile Crisis. The Soviets put IRBMs in Cuba in response to IRBMs in Turkey.
