A fair number of New Yorkers fled down here to the South. I guess we know why now.
Sure; they are fleeing the death spiral here: High taxes to provide more services for “takers” which chase out employers (who also contribute a lot in taxes) causing those remaining taxpayers to pay higher taxes to provide more services for even more takers (including the newly unemployed caused by above exodus of employers) which chases out more employers causing the fewer remaining taxpayers to pay even higher taxes to provide more services for even more takers... (you get the point).
If they vote the same way down there you’re screwed; it is kept under the radar here but the majority of our tax burden is government employees - especially teachers. When areas die, they still laugh all the way to the bank - they don’t lose anything at all, but still get great raises and benefits...
