Not having a military background and being a woman and artist, I found it difficult reading at times because of the many acronyms for various military operations and types of weapons; but the careful detail unravels the complex story of how Benghazi happened and who was behind it, step-by-step.

It made a lot of the 13 Hours movie more understandable; although, had I not seen the movie first, I might not have understood the book as much. Its most important value is its exhaustive footnoting and documentation. Trey Gowdy could have used Dark Forces and saved a lot of time.
