Compare that little vignette with this week, when Donald Trump repeatedly said that President Obama and Hillary Clinton were founders/co-founders/MVPs of ISIS. Even though the media had more than shot their outrage wad for the week, the media doubled, tripled, even quadrupled down on their outrage for the Wednesday night-Thursday news cycle. Here are six problems with the medias complete meltdown over the remarks.
1) Why Did This Become an Issue Now and Not 7 Months Ago?
Republicans who oppose Trump claim the media encouraged Trump when he was setting fire to Republican opponents but have fought him tooth and nail in the general. Ammunition for that claim includes the distinct ways the media have reacted to his long-standing claim that Obama and Clinton founded ISIS.
As the Washington Examiner notes, Trump said this three times in January alone:
Theyve created ISIS. Hillary Clinton created ISIS with Obama, he said during a campaign rally in Mississippi.Needless to say, the media response to these comments was more bemused enabling than the abject horror they reserved for this week. The full media meltdown over something Trump has been saying all year long is at best odd and unbecoming. At worst, it suggests deep media corruption.Trump restated the claim in an interview on CBS in July. Hillary Clinton invented ISIS with her stupid policies, he said. She is responsible for ISIS.
He said it again during a rally in Florida one month later. It was Hillary Clinton she should take an award from them as the founder of ISIS.

Trump is baiting the media with his outrageous statements which turn out to be not so outrageous after all...and in the process exposing the media for its corruption.
The Democrat media will go into full-throated hysteria by October a good month to turn off the news and concentrate on high school football in the great state of Texas.
Trump has always said that Obama and Hillary created ISIS by pulling out of Iraq, by destabilizing Libya, and supporting the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.
Amazing that the media can't help but fall for his "Obama and Clinton founded ISIS."
He knows exactly what he's doing.
There is some poor guy chained to a desk in the basement of the whitehut. He writes all the news for our corrupt media and they all fall in line to blindly print whatever this man says.
Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump 2h2 hours ago
Ratings challenged @CNN reports so seriously that I call President Obama (and Clinton) "the founder" of ISIS, & MVP. THEY DON'T GET SARCASM?
And:
Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump 40m40 minutes ago
I love watching these poor, pathetic people (pundits) on television working so hard and so seriously to try and figure me out. They can't!
The folks at Morning Joe are taking this very seriously. It's like a funeral they are so somber. Psychologist Mika has reached a conclusion that Trump doesn't sleep enough and it has affected his mind.
HH [Hugh Hewitt]: And thats, Id just use different language to communicate it, but let me close with this, because I know Im keeping you long, and Hopes going to kill me.
DT: But they wouldnt talk about your language, and they do talk about my language, right?
This Mollie Hemingway writes REALLY well !
On the local CBS affiliate here, the CBS headline feed was that Trump was trying to get his campaign “back on track” (their favorite line about Trump’s campaign) after a bad week and was dropping in the polls (another favorite line; Trump should be about -10 about along now).
This is the strategy:
1. Trump attacks Clinton and Obama and draws blood
2. The Democrats and the MSM have a meltdown, howling like hyenas
3. Republicans join in with their backstabbing and betrayal
4. The MSM translates the above into Trump having a bad week
It is about time for Reince Priebius to step up and take control of the agitators in the Republican party. If the dissenting Trump haters in the Republican party were at least honest and sincere, they would be voicing their concerns in the strictest privacy. But they don’t have concerns, they have malice.
Amazing that the media hacks can't see that they are being played by Trump.
At least Mollie Hemingway gets it.
1. Used social media extremely effectively to run his campaign for the cost of a bag of peanuts.
2. Chose appropriate words to drive the Left-leaning MSM out of their collective minds (pun very intended here!).
I do fear, however, that the Clinton Crime Family may not be above doing some completely insane against Trump--and we likely know what that can come to.
Trump is baiting the media with his outrageous statements which turn out to be not so outrageous after all...and in the process exposing the media for its corruption.
Agree. He won’t let them bury it and move on to their fake praise of her non accomplishment.
In simple terms, if they won’t go save americans at benghazi who are part of the government, contractor or otherwise, what do you think they are going to do for you the average citizen
Especially in light of their blind approach to the outright attack on law enforcement.
A lot of people in Nov are just going to vote AGAINST the media.
Mollie Hemingway hit this out of the park. As a result, I am going to make a practice of viewing the FDRLST website multiple times daily.
Exactly, by making direct statements accusing them of what many of us suspect them of doing, he is causing the Mainstream Media to expose their very real and dangerous actions to the Brain-Dead low infos. If they would actually cover the news instead of shape it, this wouldn’t be an issue.
Remember “The Arab Spring”
It was an orchestrated event.
They planned it, and even came up with a cutesy name for it.
It was a plan to depose all the middle east leaders, and le the muslim brotherhood take over.
Jordan and Syria successfully stopped them.
Libya and Egypt fell into muslim hands. Along with a a few other countries.
As soon as Odumbass was in office they put this into place.
They aren't competent. Never have been. THey are actors, get paid lots of money to read the script.
