Socialist Bernie Sanders spends more than his reported net worth on his third home

The great thing about being an avowed socialist is that you get to posture as a self-righteous man of the people without foregoing the benefits of wealth. Take the case of Bernie Sanders, whose self-reported net worth was $528,014, yet who just spent a reported $600,000 on a summer “vacation home” with 500 feet of lake frontage on gorgeous Lake Champlain.

What kind of elderly couple spends more than their net worth on a vacation home? Certainly, at a minimum, we can say a couple with no financial worries.

Yeah, reminds me of when I bought my 4th house with a 1,500 ft frontage on Lake Tahoe. Er, wait. That DIDN'T happen. Maybe his pals ben&jerky ponied up some bucks for his valiant effort at the wh run. Or it was part of the "settlement" from the hildabama campaign to "back away from the lectern" agreement.

There's some explanation that it's money from a house his wife inherited. That's really weak. How the heck are they going to maintain THREE houses on Sanders' income without a little help from somewhere or someone else?

Quod pro quo from Clintons for endorsement.

Kazir Khan got $375,000 from them too.

HUH? Oh yeah. The last time I inherited something like this I had to pay like $600,000 too. Sound REAL weak to me.

Maintaining three homes is very challenging even for a man half his age.
One needs money, energy, or the ability to compensate people to do all the tasks that need doing.
Something sure seems a bit funky about this expenditure.

Would that Bennington College could say the same...

Check out the real estate ads for that area. No way was he able to get 500 feet of lakefront for such a bargain price without a bit of under the table funny stuff.

Payoff from the clinton foundation. All he had to do was drop out and endorse hillary, and as a bonus he got to keep breathing - for now.

Indeed, and, it was due largely to bad decisions made by Mrs. Sanders which was the cause of their closing. Mr & Mrs Sanders may have no financial worries, but an institution under her stewardship certainly did, with disastrous results...

I don’t care what the ideology one spouts: capitalism, socialism, communism, fascism.

It always comes down to money and power.

In this case, money.
