Which is a hell of a lot more than Odumbo came into office with.

Gates' statement, as well as those of the other "elitist" know-nothings who have contributed to our current national state of affairs, apparently, have nothing of the wisdom and humility of that great genius, Author of our Declaration of Independence and President, Thomas Jefferson:

These signers of a letter, and all the rest are discrediting the honest opinions of millions of American voters who, as citizens, looked at the state of their nation, evaluated the individuals who have participated in getting us to this point, rejected the candidates they proposed, and used their innate, Creator-endowed sense of reason and right, as they voted for a flawed
(aren't all of them?). They now are being judged as being too ignorant to make such a judgment!

Excellent essay. Spengler states the obvious: fat cats in sweet jobs are not creative or helpful. Trump has managed to fresh. Trump is a blessing to our country, for sure.
