I take walks every damn day where there is traffic. I don't want to be breathing in this crap. I want to be able to breathe reasonably clean air, and I know what it's like where there are weak or no emissions laws. US emission regs are not nutty at all.

Exactly. A friend in SW Texas has a badass Mazda diesel 4x4 on the family ranch. Apparently, it is not allowed on road.

That’s what I thought. The way it was originally being reported you’re led to believe that VW’s are just pumping out a little more CO2 than they should. And that it’s meaningless EPA and treehugger laws that are being violated, but that’s not actually the case.

These engines put out 6 times the legal limit of nitrous oxides, an actual pollutant.

I’m a VW fan, but this was a dishonest thing to do, and actually harms air quality.
