My niece e-mailed me last week asking me to identify a bullet that had smashed into a neighbor’s window. It appeared to be a full metal jacket .50 cal fired from a long,long distance away as it broke the outer glass, then fell between the panes and never broke or cracked the inner pane.
It happened just east of Dallas TX.
The shot heard around the world.
You'd think folks would think that way, but that's most often the way it goes. When folks are too close to danger and they have a lot to lose by acknowledging it, the human mind can rationalize just about anything. From what we're hearing, doing long distance swimming in the open water is insane. But I'm sure if you asked the athletes, they would give you reasons why they've convinced themselves that they're safe.
Keep in mind that most Olympic athletes have always been extremely healthy, fit, and pampered. They may think they're invincible to the effects of the diseases they're exposing themselves to.
It's fascinating, the way people respond to things. Personally, I won't watch anything having to do with these Olympics. It all seems a bit like the movie Jaws, with a threat probably more dangerous than that shark was.....because it can be blocked out of their minds.
Well I wish them the best.
Thing is they wont know if something will hit them two years from now or longer.
The big question is was the shooter aiming at the msm?
The Australian coach complained about the practice pool being so “soupy” the team won’t be allowed in it.
Then there was the kayak that hit a submerged couch. He flipped over into the water, ick. Crazy.
I don’t think the equestrian press qualifies as mainstream anything.
