EGG HARBOR TWP., NJ Leroy "Blast" Bill Black was much loved, as evidenced by the fact that he has two obituaries printed in today's Press of Atlantic City.
It might have looked like a mistake on the obituary page this morning when two identical-looking (at first glance) listings appeared on top of one another, but the two different, but similar, obituaries were placed by his wife and girlfriend, respectively.
Black died at home Tuesday of lung cancer at the age of 55, the obituaries state. And depending which one you are reading, he was survived by his "loving wife Bearetta Harrison" Black, or his longtime girlfriend Princess Hall.

To me, it sounds like girlfriend is preparing her lawsuit.

I think the girlfriend must have the rights to sue the fiberglass company for mesothelioma

Oops, should have read the obits. He died with wife at his side. I bet the editor and newspaper staff had a chuckle over those.

I think the girlfriend must have the rights to sue the fiberglass company for mesotheliomaIf he was married when he died, his wife has those rights, not his girlfriend.

unless his will bequeaths that asset to the girl friend
the right belongs to the estate and the will controls what goes to whom

Saw one just like this in the New Orleans paper, back in the late '90s. The obit placed by the wife had a photo of the deceased dressed in his Sunday Best - all very proper. The one published by the girlfriend, however, featured a photo of the guy wearing a Superfly hat and grinning from ear to ear. From the text, it was obvious that he expired while with the girlfriend.
I'll bet that my former boss still has that clipping in his "humor file".

Actually, it was his “long-tome girlfriend.” Perhaps Princess is an avid reader.

I bet he is pissed at his other girlfriend for not caring enough to write an obituary for him.
