In a wide-ranging interview on the racial climate in America, Baltimore Ravens tight end Benjamin Watson brought up Planned Parenthood’s unscrupulous founding, saying the organization was created to “exterminate blacks.”

Mr. Watson said black support for Planned Parenthood is “ironic,” given that the organization was founded by eugenicist Margaret Sanger in order to control “unfit” populations.

As she cheated on her husband of the moment with not-so-secret lovers, she cheated on these paramours with still other beaus. These encounters, biographer Ellen Chesler suggests, were limited neither to members of the opposite sex nor to two participants.”[2] Sanger eventually separated from her husband in 1914.

And yet he’ll be called everything from a radical to Uncle Tom. Snopes will dedicates many column inches as to why Watson is misguided or outright lying. Margaret Sanger loved black people, you see? She was just trying to make sure only the truly exceptional black people made it into the world.

It is easier to talk a group of people into eliminating a "few" babies here and there rather than go full bore and admit you were sterilizing a whole category of women "for the common good."

I have always appreciated Ben Watson. As a longtime Patriots fan, I appreciated him when he played for us, and I doubly appreciated him when he left and I was able to find out more about just who he was. (Playing on Belichick teams meant he kept a low profile.)

I always wished he had done more with us as a player, because physically, he was/is very talented, but he DID have this one single play, above all others, that will stand out for us (it should for all people who love football. It even startled the Denver players too)
