Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has suspended funding of World Vision programs in Palestine, after the head of the charity in Gaza was charged by Israel for allegedly providing funds to Hamas.
The World Vision Australia chief executive, Tim Costello, has welcomed the suspension but said the charity was “mystified” by the charges given that independent audits had found its programs in the Palestine were clean.
Israel’s domestic security agency Shin Bet alleges that Mohammad El Halabi, the director of the Gaza branch of World Vision, used his position to divert tens of millions of dollars of humanitarian funds to Hamas and its terrorist and military activities.

World Vision better get to the bottom of this and straighten it out or fold.
Why would anyone give money to a terrorist territory?
I realize we give money to al Qaeda, the Muslim Brotherhood, ISIS, and Iran, but that’s different!
Ok, it’s not different.
Our leadership is more screwed up than theirs is, but I’m just saying? Why are any of our governments giving money to terrorist and their organizations?
And yep, we give the Palestinians money too.

Wold Vision needs to rethink its policy of hiring non Christians into supervisory positions. They also need to be a little more blatantly Christian. I’ve supported them for years but this makes me really consider doing so going forward. I think as the 15 children we support through them graduate we’ll not let them reassign us. I’ll find another charity that does the same thing

I know that Christian Action out of Hong Kong is far, far worse.
The Heifer International seems to be pretty good as does Samaritan’s Purse. Those would be my first two options
Do you know if SP has a program for supporting an individual child. I really like FG and SP too!
