Shattuck: Nuts to those who willfully put political correctness above all
The Boston Herald ^ | 08/04/16 | Tom Shattuck

“I don’t frankly have time for total political correctness. And to be honest with you, this country doesn’t have time either. This country is in big trouble.”

So railed Donald Trump almost exactly a year ago at the first Republican debate, and one year later he’s right on message.

The Republican nominee is the very embodiment of that message, and it has driven the establishment media and the D.C. old guard completely psychotic.

Full speed ahead, Donald. The beast is retching wildly because you’ve dealt it a blow.

And to those venomous protectors of political correctness demanding your surrender, you should deliver the same message that General McAuliffe sent to the Germans surrounding him at the Battle of the Bulge:

“Nuts.”

Political correctness is just a democrat ploy to browbeat weak minded people into submission. Cultural Marxism must be defeated!

I like what Clint Eastwood said in a recent interview that this is the “pussy generation.”

Political correctness is the venue of those in politics, as they try to be all things to all people.

To the rest of us it’s just bull$6/+.

If someone tells me I’m not being “politically correct”, I just answer, “oh...are you a politician?” If the say “no”, I just say “me neither...now, where were we?”, and continue my spiel.

The media learned a valuable lesson from the Slickster; when the topic is too hot for your guy, talk about something else.

So railed Donald Trump . . .

Evidently, going forward, every story about Trump must contain at least one obligatory slam.

The beast is retching wildly because you’ve dealt it a blow.

Right in one. The nastiness that you're seeing lately is the current Dem cabal thrashing around in its death throes. Been expecting this for awhile. Frankly, I thought that it would be worse (BIG riots, though the summer is not over yet). And, I didn't expect that the GOP(e) would get dragged down with them, that's been a nice two-fer.

What I'm concerned about is two-fold...

1) Will Trump get sucked down with them too? A month ago I'd have said "no", but now I'm not 100% sure. Hillary is too awful to contemplate, but she might swoop in on her broom to capture a weakly attended election. Her husband did much the same in '92, willing a plurality, not a majority.

2)What will replace the GoP(e)? Something more conservative that's not in bed with Dems? That'd be ideal. My gut tells me, though, that we're likely to wind up with more political operators like we have today. They'll have different faces and names, but will be exactly the same.

Time will tell. Meanwhile, we can't be paralyzed by what might happen, we need to work to make what we want happen.

An old Vet with a ruby set in his jump wings told me “Nuts” was what the press felt they could print. He was there. He said it was “Go F yourself”.

I despise the PC culture. But it has permeated the younger and the moderate population so deeply that if Donald wants to win ( and he is our only hope as a country) he has to take it into account.
