Minnesota lawmakers, and a former gubernatorial candidate and Gold Star Mom picked up the phone today to call on Donald Trump to apologize to the family of Captain Humayun Khan. DFL Representative John Lesch, DFL Representative Rob Ecklund, and former state representative and senator Becky Lourey were on the call organized by the Clinton campaign. Trump has been widely criticized for his reaction to the DNC speech by Khizr Khan, the father of the fallen soldier who questioned what sacrifices Trump had made for his country and accused him of not reading the Constitution.

My suggestion to the dad: venting your anger to Hillary and McCain who actively instigated and supported the war that cost taxpayers trillions of dollar and caused your son’s death.
What I think Trump should do is hold a press conference and restate in his exact words the very same thing he said before, and then explain why he has no intention of apologizing to these Clinton-inspired Muslims or anybody else.
Their military sons must be rolling over in their graves, seeing their parents sell out their sacrifice to prop up Hillary. NO CONSCIENCE AT ALL.
This whole thing is painful but Trump needs to stand firm. If they can force him to grovel, if they (the DNC and their propeganda media partners) can prove that they can bring him to heel, all they will do is double and triple down on it.

Trump only responded to the political shots. Kahn’s speech was delivered at the Democratic National Convention which was a political anti-Trump (rightfully so) gathering.

Sorry, every gold star mom and dad in the US has no basis for coming out of the woodwork and trying to negatively affect a presidential candidate, no more than any other US citizen. And especially not to try and damage a candidate who had absolutely nothing to do with initiating the war where their son or daughter was lost.
Trump has a ready-made response: If you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
