One of the authors of books on Benghazi said that the CIA had kidnapped the cousin of the person that Special forces were buying guns form. They thought the cousin was in the annex so they attacked to rescue him. Made for a good book.

Then she tried to buy them back in Benghazi through Ambassador Stevens. Remember the missing six billion bucks?

Strange thing is that that crazy blog Lame Cherry had it as what was going on there almost instantly. Makes one wonder what is or was really behind that blog.
This is a nothing burger. It is the same as Reagan and Iran-Contras. If anything, it will allow Clinton to compare herself with Reagan.
It doesn’t make that much sense to me, in a place where you could buy an assortment of modern weapons at the local bazaar, they go into a compound to get an Ambassador? I still think the weapon goal was a ruse as big as the You Tube video. They were after the Ambassador and it wasn’t spontaneous.

Since we just had to get involved with overthrowing Khadaffi, the Obama administration created a need to secure the 5000+ MANPADs they put in play. Buying up weapons and sending them to Syria is another thing entirely.
When Reagan paid Khaddafi back for Lockerbie by some coincidence he did hit Benghazi itself, in addition to various locations in and around Tripoli, obviously.
The now-chastened Khaddafi calmed down and knowing the full wrath of US airpower, went on a decades-long MANPADS buying binge.
The US operators were acquiring, appraising, servicing and TRANSFERRING lots of MANPADS, in addition to other gear.
