Wildfires were burning Monday in seven Western U.S. states, from California's famed Big Sur region to tribal towns and hamlets near Reno, Nevada.

Evacuations were ordered in Montana, Nevada, Oregon and Wyoming and firefighters were trying to stop a Washington blaze from reaching a thickly forested security zone at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation.

Here in south west Montana, the smoke is getting heavy too.

For a while it was reminiscent of wood stoves in winter back east, but its gotten old in the summer, especially living in a valley.

These are the things that happen when you close off forest land to responsible management.

No, it’s my fault. I turned my air conditioner on in May. Sob. I’m so sorry.

Yup. Wildland and forest fires have become another federal government make-work project.

Forest Jihad.....
You would think people would get a clue.
No one has the balls to call them out.
And the one’s that know what is going on will never speak of it.

From California to Nevada? Last time I looked, those two states were adjacent. That's not very far at all in geographic terms. If they were talking about an alphabetical list of western states, should have gone with Arizona to Wyoming. What are they teaching in journalism school these days? Nothing but PC and how to toe the liberal line?

My heart and prayers go out to everyone affected by the fires. I've been there. More than once I've had the vehicles loaded up ready to evacuate. I have friends who lost homes to wild fires.

You beat me to it. I was just going to write about the same absurdity of the title including California and Nevada with the “From” qualifier along with “seven states”. How retarded does a “journalist” or “editor” have to be to see the title is plainly at conflict with itself.

One good fire up by Tahoe could make that headline true all by itself.

When are they going to admit the fires are being set - on purpose ..???

They have already arrested one person who was caught in the act of setting a fire. This arrest confirmed my suspicions.

Some of the fires started in San Diego County, began in one area of the city; went from outlying areas with an isolated home; went to homes closer in; then went to apartments. For some strange reason they stopped - don’t know if it had anything to do with the one person they arrested.

Since then, most of the fires have been outside city limits.

So true! The government expropriated the forests, then turned them over to eco-nazis to manage. The fires kill all wildlife trapped in their inferno and burn so hot that nothing can regrow for a century. This information comes from Dr Bill Wattenburg, nuclear scientist and a firefighting son of a logger from Chico, Ca.
