Donald Trump gave a sneak preview of his July fundraising numbers on Monday, saying he raised at least $35.8 million from small donations.
"We have raised, with the small donors, $35.8 million. I believe it's 517,000 [donations]. Think about that: that's in a month," he said Monday during a rally in Columbus, Ohio.
"How incredible is that? It's not even to me the money; it's the concept."
He added that the average donation he received was $69 and that the total doesn't include donations from those "putting up larger numbers."
Presidential candidates have to report donations monthly. Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, said his campaign will release more details on Tuesday. His campaign did not respond to a request for more information.
Trump raised $51 million in total last month, with $26 million going directly to the campaign and the remainder being split among the national and state parties. Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton raised more than $68 million, with more than $40 million going directly to the campaign.
Trump said his supporters shouldn't be worried by any fundraising deficit because he'll have his hands clean when elected.
"I'm going to do what's right for you," he said.
"She has got to do right for her donors."
I’m one of them.
Me Too.
For months Hillary has been asking me for $1 contributions to push her average way down to cover all the mega donors, lobbyists and special interests groups donors. I mean like 2-4x per day.
That’s what The Zero did, too.
I donate monthly by direct deposit.
Proud to say it was my second donation with more intended. GO TRUMP !!!!!!!!!
Me too, it was my second and when it asked me last night to double, I did! I plan for the first time to hit the max donation between now and October. Saving between paychecks for sure!! Go Trump GO!!
I sent in my 2nd donation today too.
I only use the Trump campaign website—getting a lot of emails with GOP email addresses asking for money, as if written by Trump
“I only use the Trump campaign websitegetting a lot of emails with GOP email addresses asking for money, as if written by Trump”
And most of scams come from the NRCC and NRSC. They’ve been using Trump and his supporters from the start and not one CENT will go to Trump’s campaign.
You are correct to use his site...USE NO OTHERS!
“Im one of them.”
Me too. Waiting for my Trump Train magnet to arrive.
I’ve made my 3rd contribution — best to make them smaller that 200, with more of them over a longer period of time.
Bigger than that, you’ll probably end up in an IRS audit, or otherwise subject to harassment from our corrupt government. And if Hillary gets in, it’ll be even more blatant.
Me, three (actually 2 separate small donations).
I can’t afford much, but I can afford a Hillary presidency even less.
If only there was some kind of business where you could get large numbers of people to come in and drop money on a table and perhaps get something of much less value back, or even nothing at all.
Imagine that.
I gave the minimum $35 in July, but plan on give every month until November!!
Me too.
I got my hat.
I want to thank Trump for not filling my email box with pleas for money. I give my time to politics. My wife (and the tax man) get my money.
I still get over 3 per day from Cruz, 1 per day from Rubio and Carson. Maybe 2 per week from Kasich. Of course $aul $yan is the worst. Since I’ve never given money to anyone (except a council man in E Dundee and AUH2O) It is interesting how I am on so many mailing lists.
The media will be working over-time to try and discredit these figures, just like they attempted to do several months back.
I hope Trump raises so much money the Dems heads explode.
