Would like to know what their demands are.
But am not clicking BI as it always freezes my browser.
Here’s the list from IBT:
“For example, the group calls for criminal justice reform and recommends ending militarized police presence in protests. Other reforms include free tuition and retroactive federal student loan forgiveness; rights for trans individuals; and ending the death penalty, mass incarceration and deportations. The organization is also requesting a bill be passed to create a committee to study reparations for those who descend from slaves.”
From BuzzFeed:
“The group will call for reparations; an end to the death penalty, mass incarceration, and deportations; and added rights for trans people under current civil rights protections in a new policy paper to be released Monday. Movement organizers also call for drastic changes to U.S. educational policy, including free tuition and retroactive forgiveness of federal student loans.”
Just under political power they list this:
1. An end to the criminalization of Black political activity including the immediate release of all political prisoners and an end to the repression of political parties. (Includes removal of Assata Shakur from international terrorist lists. She was convicted of various bank robberies and murders including the execution of a policeman.)
2. Public financing of elections and the end of money controlling politics through ending super PACs and unchecked corporate donations.
3. Election protection, electoral expansion and the right to vote for all people including: full access, guarantees, and protections of the right to vote for all people through universal voter registration, automatic voter registration, pre-registration for 16-year-olds, same day voter registration, voting day holidays, enfranchisement of formerly and presently incarcerated people, local and state resident voting for undocumented people, and a ban on any disenfranchisement laws.
4. Full access to technology including net neutrality and universal access to the internet without discrimination and full representation for all.
5. Protection and increased funding for Black institutions including Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Black media and cultural, political and social formations.
Of course there is reparations, end of war on black people, etc.
