The Oligarch Organized Crime Rules (readable version)

(1) Pay me. That is rule number one. We get a cut of everything. Pay to play. Pay or die. Pay or be blackmailed. Pay me. Business, nation, church, charity—pay me.

(2) There is no public policy. Public policy is the use of the language to deceive people who care about public policy. There is no domestic policy. There is no foreign policy. That is not who we are or why we are here. All policy debates are lies about babble about irrelevant nonsense. They are a magic show to divert the masses from seeing the real action behind the curtain. We are the action. We are behind the curtain.

(3) There are no laws. Laws are for everyone else. We are our own law. We own the lawyers, the judges, the politicians. They are us. We are them. We are the law. We can murder, rob, cheat, bribe, extort as well. We can sell any secrets we want to the highest bidder. Don’t believe us?—just try to stop us—but make sure your will is in order first.

(4) There is no free press. Our allies own the media. Reporters obey or they are fired-or killed. We tell them what to say. Their job is to say it.

(5) Our job is to make money for our partners who make money for us. Our partners include the large commercial and investment banks, the military/industrial/intelligence complex, big pharma, big media, and many other international businesses. Small businesses must be crushed—unless they pay.

(6) Our newer partners are “high tech” “software” firms like Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, Facebook, etc. Their job is to spy on everyone and give the information to us. Our job is to make sure they are not regulated, and to crush potential competition.

(7) There is no such thing as national security. In fact there are no nations. The maps are not the territory. We and our friends are the territory. Everyone else is pawns who are not on the map. Go ahead and publish that map. No school-child will ever see it. NSA works for us. KGB works for us. MI6 works for us. We are the territory.

(8) Pay me.
