Is this an example of the “taqiyya”(sp?) tenet of Islam, that you can lie to further the goals of Islam???

I thought it was so offensive to Muslims to be in any non-Muslim house of worship. So how the heck can they go to a church, and participate in the mass????

Once they pray in them they consider them to be a mosque.

Muslims are allowed to lie to protect the safety of Muslims and the image of Islam.
To deflect potential violence is an allowed reason to lie, as evidenced by Mohamed welcoming someone who lied about being Muslim to not get killed, saying it was being Muslim that was the most important thing. In that context, lying about “we’re so sorry, don’t blame us” to prevent reciprocated violence is kosher with the Koran - pun intended.
