Most all the billionaires seem to be big on the New World Order. They live on Elysium, or at least think they do. Their money gives them the ability to create a reality-distortion field for themselves and their families. They never have to leave it.
Eventually, they start to think it is actual reality. Who is going to tell them otherwise? Anyone says anything they don't like, they get fired.
