I think Cruz actually began to believe the hype of Levin and Back that he (Cruz) was the next Reagan. It is said that after Reagan addressed the '76 convention after Ford had won the nomination, many in the crowd wondered if they had nominated the wrong guy. Cruz wanted to, and seriously believed he could have the same effect.
After listening to Beck and Levin for months, he thought he was going to recreate Ronald Reagan’s 1976 convention speech and ‘Cruz’ to victory in 2020.
Unfortunately for Ted, he is no Ronald Reagan and his speech fell flat.
Teddy can not get over his father’s prophesy that Teddy was destined to be POTUS. He came so close in finishing 2nd for GOP nomination, so he will never get over the reality that he was defeaTED.
