Shocking, isn't it? The piece I can't figure out is Bernie Sanders. With the DNC scandal, he was in a position to demand approval of the VP choice. If he hadn't walked away from his supporters, he and they could've done much better than a few meaningless platitudes in the platform. At the very least, he should've handed over the reins of his delegates to Kucinich or another progressive. Now they'll be pounded to sand by the DNC.

Was Sanders complicit? What did he get in return?

I say this from the perspective of someone who's 100% for Trump, and like you, on the Trump Train pretty early. We should be able to convince a lot of Sanders supporters that the only way they gain control of the Democratic Party is for hillary to lose in November. Otherwise, the elite won't even pretend our votes matter any more.
