A former Fox News correspondent has been arrested in Virginia on charges of rape and forcible sodomy.

Orlando 'Orly' Salinas, 55, who had spent 12 years reporting for Fox News in Miami, was taken into custody on Tuesday in Montgomery County, Virginia, after being indicted on charges stemming from an incident that took place in January.

Court documents in the case indicate that the alleged victim was not Salinas' wife, but another woman.

While the indictments, cited by The Roanoke Times, offer scant details regarding Salinas' alleged offenses, they state that the former reporter took actions against the victim by force, threat and intimidation against her will.

Orlando Salinas?? He was let go from his job in Roanoke last year. That is when I learned his on-air persona I remember from FOX did not quite match his real life.

But rape?? I hope it is not true. Will wait for the evidence.

Fits the media narrative. Fox News is full of sexual predators, from the CEO to the field reporters.

Meanwhile, CNN is the epitome of fairness and journalism.

His coverage made hurricanes especially entertaining. “Swing that camera over here....”

He was one of my favorites at FOX. I am trying very hard not to judge one way or another. I admit I don’t want it to be true, but what I want has no relevance to the facts, whatever they are.

"Will wait for the evidence. "

Ditto. I try not to jump to conclusions until all the facts have been revealed.

http://www.wdbj7.com/content/news/Former-WDBJ7-reporter-Orlando-Salinas-denied-bond-in-rape-case-388838012.html

Denied bond today

More case details:

http://www.richmond.com/news/virginia/article_20c10ad6-77a4-52bf-87e5-0a3d0b0142a2.html

“...CHRISTIANSBURG – Former WDBJ reporter Orlando Salinas was denied bond Monday as prosecutors accused him of raping a 64-year-old woman suffering from health issues....”

(Snip)

“...When interviewed by investigators, Salinas confirmed parts of the story, but said there had been no vaginal penetration, according to the prosecutor. He also said oral sex was consensual.

Salina’s lawyer Tyson Daniel said his client “vigorously disputes” the allegations.

Daniel argued for Salinas to be released on bond, saying the former TV personality has known he was under investigation since police executed a search warrant on his home in February. Salinas testified Monday that he had made no attempts to flee.

But Judge Marcus Long said the key difference between then and now is that Salinas has since been indicted on rape and forcible sodomy charges.

The judge denied bond, saying Salinas could pose a threat to the community because of the severity of the accusations he faces.
Salinas’ trial is scheduled for October.”

This is going to be a messy one.
