As long as the giving is voluntary, I don’t see anything wrong. The rationale is stupid, but people can do stupid things with their own money. Just leave me out of it.

Slavery was legal back then. By the standards of today’s liberals, your ancestors should have been forced to participate in the slave trade, and bake a cake to celebrate it.
