Trump has been an Internet phenomenon since announcing his candidacy in 2015, and Reddit has served as a kind of hot spot for dialogue about his ideas for his fans. Trump, who was flying from an event in Scranton to an event in Toledo during the session, was delayed at the start of the event, and replied to questions slowly.
He touched on issues of the police, visa reform, the Affordable Care Act and voter fraud.
“Voter fraud is always a serious concern and authorities must be vigilant from keeping those from voting that are not authorized to do so,” Trump said in response to a question about the potential for rigged voting machines in November.
Several users expressed concern that the media and government were colluding to interfere with Trump’s campaign, and block him from winning the presidency. Trump said that he was concerned about the “dishonesty of the press,” and praised “new media” as a way to get out the truth. I respect that this site is pro trump but I am perhaps the tonic that helps the gin go down. I feel a repeat coming of that awful moment when the dingleberry was anointed, appointed, whatever. I was reading brave new world revisited at the time, and Huxley wrote that when a candidate is sold to the masses in the same way a deodorant stick is, that country is done. Well, we’ve been done a while now. I would love an honest answer to the question, and know I’ll never get it explicitly. But the proof is in the pudding, so, I’ll know when the results are in. Even though the Reddit front page is supposedly determined by a popularity algorithm, the Trump thread never made it to the top despite having tens of thousands of votes and being by far the most active thread on Reddit at the time.
The algorithm, i.e. Reddit moderators, removed it from the Reddit front page entirely and promoted an obscene anti-Trump drawing with much lower popularity to #1.
