A logical question. Based on my short military experience and handling of some classified correspondence, I'd bet most every official communication of a S of S would be classified at least "Confidential".
And that practically all of the emails discussed here were classified seems to support that.
Terrible reporting on this subject from the beginning of the story months ago.
