In the 1930s and 40s, Nazism madness came to Europe. It took a massive effort, including the firebombing of major cities in Europe, to destroy Nazism.

It took another massive effort, including massive firebombing and two atomic bombs, to destroy the madness of Japanese imperialism.

It will take a lot more to destroy the madness of Islamic terrorism, and there will not likely be a Marshall Plan to rebuilt those parts of the planet that had to be destroyed.
