A green energy project has some environmentalists seeing red.

Solar energy ordinarily wins praise from groups that want to cut greenhouse gases, but a proposed solar project at a defunct Long Island nuclear power plant has stirred outrage because it requires demolishing 350 acres of woodlands.

I think the trees can capture the energy a lot more efficiently than can solar panels.

I wonder how many indigenous birds this little project will zap?

I visited this nuclear project with an engineering group when it was under construction. Very sensible. The article fails to mention the role of then Gov. Mario Cuomo in killing it.
As to “local opposition,” coincidentally I had a relative in the town at the time who had no problem with it.
This is anti-nuclear, eco-insanity.

Tree’s efficiency in energy conversion is actually quite low but much they are more pleasant.

All LIBs are mentally ill. Econut LIBs are uber-insane. They are a waste of space and air.

Because Suffolk County really needs more concrete wasteland than it does 350 acres of trees.
