He says the measure doesn’t provide enough time for these employees to be moved to another payroll.

Obama says the bill would also interfere with the Secret Service’s ability to protect ex-presidents. …

Post presidential perks should be a performance bonus. Zero does not get any bonus.

If I were trump and was elected I’d direct the secret service to put every screw up agent they had protecting him.

That sounds like a feature rather than a bug.

An ex-President should not have an expense account.

President Xero will soon enter the Clintons rarified air of multimillions in speaking fees. Financially capitalizing on public
“Service” (a term loosely used) is a cottage industry for former failed, disgraced Democrat Presidents.

If there were justice he'd have to pay the $6B he stole and and refund part of the several billions in the kickback he got during the Iran Deal. Trump needs to run a full forensic audit and identify the thieves and treachery committed during Obama's reign then bring them up on charges in federal court and put them in prison or hang them. I bet the theft of taxpayer funds is unprecedented.

“Well at the moment i caan’t think of an ex president worth protecting.”

Perhaps so, but the problem is, how do you attract a good next president? And considering what it does to these people (they seem to age at 2-3x the normal rate), the job pays badly and has no career path. So, as physically ill as this makes me, I must agree with...you know who.

We do not provide ex presidents with Secret Service for their own safety, we provide ex presidents with Secret Service protection to protect our own state secrets.

I don’t see why an ex-President needs staff or office space. Or even a pension. There are NO poor ex-Presidents, one book deal is enough to set them for life.
