TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- A Strozier Library employee is suing Florida State University in the wake of the 2014 shooting that left three people injured and the gunman dead.
The woman was working at the library's front desk that night. She claims FSU was negligent in its security and racially discriminated against her by failing to help her after the shooting ended....

IIRC, this was the shooting where an angry black man opened fire on unarmed people.
And the media REALLY moved off of that story QUICK.
Didn’t fit the mold, you know? That pre-made mold that only angry White tea partier, NRA member, Sarah Palin supporters shot people.

FSU should make this a VERY public case then. Watch if go away after a small settlement.
BS. I know people who are faculty there. I was also faculty and am now staff at a big state university.
All of these schools have multiple layers of counseling available for general stress, taking care of elderly parents or sick kids, workplace issues, etc. In addition to the in-house services provided by the university, her insurance likely provided for private mental health treatment.
As the school stated, the complainant didn’t take advantage of the help that was offered. Probably because it didn’t come with a check.
I’d like to see a lot more lawsuits filed against establishments that force folks to be disarmed. The only way to get some places to accept our right to bear arms is by hitting them in the pocketbook. If their insurance rates are higher because they disarm their workers and patrons, they’ll take notice.
The legal theory is pretty straightforward. By disarming us, they have, by their own actions, assumed a much higher duty to protect.
Early retirement much?
