Rush was trying to salvage Cruz from the self-immolation of his career.
I’m beginning to think the reason Rush takes so much time off, is because he’s finally lost the ability to astutely analyze current events at the masterful level he once did.
This theory about Trump allowing Lyin Ted to ruin a full day of the convention, so that the resultant backlash would unify the party, is a real stretch.
I mean, it’s possible, but it’s more of a wild assed stab into conspiriatorial fantasy, than brilliant analysis.
Who’s using who? I think they both got what they wanted.
Rush will be trashing Trump’s speech for 3 hours today. He will make some complement followed by some snark. He has become Levin light.

I agree. Stupid to believe that Trump orchestrated Cruz’s own political suicide. Whiny Ted wants to blame his self destruction on Trump instead of himself.
Trump got a transcript two hours before the speech. What was he supposed to do - not allow Ted to speak. The media would have loved it. Ted could have called a press conference circulated his speech and blamed everything on Trump.
As it was Trump said there were things in the actual speech that were not in the original.
You guys haven't been paying attention lately have you? The Trump team was provided with a copy of Cruz's speech, just as all invited speakers must do.
Trump and his team knew EXACTLY what Cruz was going to say and they had every opportunity to cancel his appearance but instead, they chose to let him proceed and hang himself.......

I was doing the research on it and this is what I found:
It looks like the email was a generic fundraising email letter from Ted Cruz, but he was soliciting funds claiming the delegates were being threatened and setting up a Delegate Defense Fund. I’d like to know if Ken Cuccinelli of the Cruz campaign, knew Eric Bennett worked for the DNC. Did he use the gmail account for plausible deniability?
This should be investigated.
Were there ever any threats or was this a fundraising gimmick?
Did the Cruz campaign ever inform Reince Preibus or Trump campaign manager that there were threats being made to Cruz delegates & if he didn’t why not?
