“Calling” someone an untrue name doesn’t stop the conversation... Unless the person being called racist allows it to.
Or that person gets fired from their job in a public way that blacklists them from all future employment. That threat will stop most people who value stability, family, work, and employment.
What if they are called that and it’s true? I happen to believe it’s true in all cases, btw - that everyone does and should have natural inclinations about race & that there’s nothing wrong with that at all. In fact, a person who is honest in that regard has the moral high ground over someone who perpetuates the lie that such biases can or should be realistically eliminated.
That is how we solve the issue. We drop the dishonest delusions and stop vilifying what is natural and right. Take the wind out of the sails of accusers by admitting to the charge as if it’s absurd the charge would even bother one.
