I happen to think the coup was staged for Erdogan to usher in a stricter Islamic regime. Even if it wasn’t so, what Erdogan is now doing is NOT the way to handle dissent.
I don’t see the big deal. He praised Erdogan for turning the coup around, stated he didn’t think it was staged(maybe because it sounds a little like a conspiracy theory or that’s how the media would portrait it when he says it), offered no caution to Turkey and the likes to follow rule of law(who’s law?), convinced he could persuade Erdogan to put more effort into fighting the Islamic State by meeting with him, said Assad is bad but Islamic State is biggest problem.
Probably doesn’t want to come off sounding like he’d overthrow Erdogan because that’s what the obama/clinton admin does, replace rulers.
Anyway ERDOGAN is a tyranic islamic snake and he knows how to fool or own our croocked politicians in Europe and firstable Mss MERKEL ....
I was stunned to see the complaisant ERDOGAN’s interview on CNN just after the failed “coup”.
